| Description: |
Eaton Elementary School was a 21,200 sq foot
addition to an existing school facility. A large part of this addition
was a 6,500 sq foot gymnasium. Numerous classrooms were also added
both on the main and second floors. The design of the addition was
such that an extremely difficult masonry radius had to be constructed
to tie into the existing facility. Brick matching the existing twelve
year old school was also used. The majority of construction occurred
during the school year, which required that we maintain a work site,
which caused as little disruption as possible. |

| Description: |
Doe Elementary School presented numerous challenges
that had to be overcome in the construction and renovation of this
school. The addition had to match the existing school which was
constructed in 1951 as much as possible. The renovation consisted
of 8,000 sq ft of the existing kitchen and classrooms, the kitchen
being a complete demolition with all new equipment being installed.
The needed demolition had to be accomplished during the summer months
(summer of 2000 and 2001) while school was not in session. The additional
classrooms and gymnasium comprised 27,000 sq feet of new construction
with various phases being completed in time for opening of school. |
